How You Can Support the Fund – The Spirit of Giving Campaign

Looking for a meaningful way to support the place you love? The Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region offers a special way to contribute. Make a gift in honor of another person, family or group. These contributions can be made in celebration of any special occasion: birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries; as a memorial gift of an Adirondack neighbor; a holiday gift to those with a special connection to our area; or as a thank you to one of our local nonprofits. Your gift will become part of the funds distributed each year that benefit and strengthen our communities. 

To participate in the Spirit of Giving Campaign, make a donation and under “special instructions,” please include the following information:
Your name, mailing address, phone number, donation amount, and the name of the person or persons you’re giving in honor of and their mailing address

Checks can also be mailed to Adirondack Community Foundation, PO Box 288, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Checks should be made out to Adirondack Community Foundation with “CFGMR” in the memo line.

The Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region offers grants to nonprofit organizations in the towns of Chester, Horicon, Johnsburg, Minerva, and Schroon to support community beautification, historic preservation, culture and the arts, education, recreation, and programs for youth, seniors and veterans. All recipients must be a certified 501(c)3 organization, school, or local government located within the aforementioned towns.

If you’re seeking support for a program that operates or will take place within the CFGMR area in partnership with another organization or a school, but your organization is not physically located within the towns listed above, the actual application must be submitted by the partner organization that is physically located within the catchment area.

Please be sure to describe the need that your program addresses and why it is important. If your application is successful and your program needs to change after being awarded a grant, you must check in with us before changing the way the funds will be used.
