Wilmington tech startup makes finalist in national pitch competition
WILMINGTON — Big ideas are taking off in the Adirondacks — and one of our own is headed to the national stage. Auspex Intelligence, co-founded by Wilmington resident Jenn Munsie, has been selected as one of only five startups from across rural America to compete in the 6th Annual Small Towns, Big Ideas Pitch Event, hosted by the Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) in partnership with the Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship at Dartmouth College.
On Thursday, October 29, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Dartmouth College, Munsie will pitch her business to a panel of investors for a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize. The audience, online and in person, will vote for their favorite pitch, with the winner taking home an additional $1,500 Audience Choice Award.
Auspex Intelligence is an enterprise AI startup that builds realistic, behavioral practice models for high-stakes dealmakers. Munsie and her husband, Andrew Sugar, also operate Skyward Microgreens while balancing full-time executive roles. They represent a growing number of highly skilled, location-flexible workers choosing the Adirondack region as their home base.
Their story reflects an expanding regional network designed to help rural entrepreneurs thrive. Adirondack Innovation Initiative (A2i), a project of Adirondack Community Foundation, is actively connecting thousands of tech-enabled professionals and founders living throughout the Adirondacks.
